YES, you can keep your hair and grow it back!

I'm always amazed at how one fiber growing out of our head has so much value and when it's not there it has such an impact on our life.  What people want most is to keep their hair as long as possible.  We tend to recall how wonderful our hair was in our youth.....but as life goes , so does our hair.  I've continually been on the watch for what is new in the industry so the hair on our head will stay as long as we want - or perhaps I should say not leave as fast.

This year has been a great time for learning and finding new product that works.   One new finding is the cause of hair loss.  It seems the majority of men and women lose their hair due to a chemical reaction in their body that is created by a hormone.  The hormone interfers by attaching or shall we say attacking the starting point of the hair.  That would be in the follicle where "hair life" has it's beginning.  The reaction is to shorten the life of the hair (normally hair should keep growing and stay on our hear for 2-6 years) , shrink the root of the hair and then work to block the opening on the scalp so hair can't grow out.  It sounds like a mean trick to me.

So what can you do about it?   Here are three ways to fight it.
1. Internally.  For some reason the components from the Saw Palmetto tend to nourish the scalp at the growing area and make it more difficult for the hormone to take action.

2. Topical Treatment.  I tend to think of the scalp as a wood floor.  If you take a broom and sweep all the dirt out of the cracks, wash it really good and treat the surface with restorative product the floor will look good and last longer.  That's the principle idea you need for your scalp.  You need to debreed the scalp and get rid of the dead skin cells etc so the site where the hair emerges from the scalp can be as clear as possible.  You then need to clean the fiber itself working to replace  the hair  amino acids which normally would be there to strengthen new hair fiber.  Of course you need to keep the scalp calm and healthy.  A blend of Vitamin B is a good choice.
I've actually found fantastic products that do all this and they truly work.  I've been using them myself for some months and the results have been exceptional and surpassing my initial expectation.  If you want to know about them, I'm willing to share.

3. Light Therapy.  This is a new piece of education for this junkie.....but it makes so much sense.  There is now available light therapy.  How does it work?  The "shape" of the light is able to reach the follicle of the hair and cause a bio-stimulation or vibration.  This activates the  blood to feed the follicle, strengthening the very beginning of  hair growth.  It's like having a personal strength trainer for your scalp.

These three steps will be of value if you are experiencing hair loss due to male/female pattern baldness, medical hair loss, stress hair loss, and many other types of hair loss.  The goal is to keep the scalp healthy so the hair can grow and have a lengthened growing cycle to create natural density.  This works exceptionally well for individuals that have experienced hair loss due to chemo therapy.  One of the first questions I'm asked by chemo patients is:  How long will it take to get my hair back?  My answer is: work to keep your scalp as healthy as possible during treatment so you can work to restore the attack made on the follicle of the hair.
However, it does not work for individuals that have experienced the full blown attack of the hormone which may have cause permanent damage to the follicle.  The point is:  take action early!
Yes, the hair can keep your hair and grow it back----I have still to meet the individual who complains their hair grows to thick or to fast.....and if I did I would feel little pity for such a problem.

The Education Junkie Speaks

There is not a day that goes by that a person is not learning something new.  There is not a day that goes by that one isn't asked for information that they want to learn from you.  It is for that reason that I desire to create a blog.  With my years in the hair industry I find there is still a strong interest in learning on my part and the need to relay that information to others.  Over the days ahead I hope to share with you Facts that I have learned about hair, hair loss, wigs, hair replacement and various hair services.
